Klinsmann's second match opponent, Jordan, defeated Qatar 2-1
Jordan, the opponent in the second round of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup group stage for Korea, led by coach Jurgen Klinsmann, defeated the host country and defending champion Qatar.
Jordan achieved a 2-1 comeback win against Qatar in a closed-door friendly match held at Al Gharafa Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on the 6th (Korean time).
Jordan allowed the first goal through a penalty kick to Akram Afif in the 11th minute of the first half, but Yazan Al-Naimat balanced the score with an equalizer in the 6th minute of the second half. Then, in the 13th minute of the second half, Ali Orwan scored a penalty kick to win the game.
Jordan, who had only 1 draw and 6 losses in 7 games since coach Hussein Amota took office, reported its first meaningful win just before the opening of the tournament. In addition, it is even more meaningful because it is a victory against the defending champion who has the home advantage in Qatar, where the tournament is held.
