Kim Min-sung heads to his former team Lotte after 14 years 'Kim Min-soo goes to LG'
Kim Min-seong returns to his former team after 14 years.
Professional baseball team LG recruited Kim Min-soo from the Lotte Giants through a sign-and-trade on the 26th. A contract was signed with free agent (FA) Min-Sung Kim for a contract period of up to 3 years (2+1) and a total of KRW 900 million (KRW 200 million in down payment, KRW 500 million in annual salary, KRW 200 million in options). “We did a one-on-one trade,” he said.
Kim Min-seong returns to his former team after 14 years. He was selected 13th overall in the second round of the 2007 2nd Rookie Draft and wore a Lotte uniform. In 2009, his third year, he appeared in 114 games and was recognized for his potential with a batting average of 0.248, 4 home runs, and 37 RBIs.
Afterwards, in 2010, he headed to Nexen (now Kiwoom) Heroes through a trade that replaced Hwang Jae-gyun, Kim Min-seong, and Kim Su-hwa. He played there for 9 seasons, qualified as a free agent in 2019, and found his home at LG through a sign-and-trade. He served as the best backup at LG for five seasons. Last year, LG played a big role in winning the overall championship for the first time in 29 years.
Minsu Kim, who is heading to LG, graduated from Jemulpo High School in Incheon and joined Lotte in the second round of the 2nd round in 2017. He was completing his military service and his possibilities were increasing.
