“Banner creators identified → punished” announced
A banner mocking the deceased was hung on stage in England over the weekend, shocking soccer fans.
This banner reminds us of the Leicester helicopter crash in October 2018. At the time, five people, including Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, fell to their deaths while traveling in a helicopter after the Leicester-West Ham match. The controversy quickly spread as Leicester away fans who discovered the banner spread it on social networking services (SNS). Banners mocking the helicopter accident were hung on the streets outside the stadium.
West Midlands Police immediately removed the banner, and Coventry quickly issued a statement condemning the incident. The club said, "Such behavior cannot be tolerated in the soccer world or society. It is not welcome in our club and will be subject to a ban," and announced that it would hunt down fans who created and displayed the banner and take appropriate action.
Leicester said: "We are disappointed by the disrespectful behavior of fans who mock a tragic event that has had a huge impact on our club and community. This behavior goes against the values of respect and unity that football embodies."
The Premier League, FA, and EFL announced new regulations ahead of the 2023-2024 season, stating that abuse of the tragedy that occurred in soccer could result in a stadium ban and even criminal punishment.

Meanwhile, on this day, league leader Leicester lost 1-3 to 6th place Coventry. They took the lead with Kiernan Dewsbury Hall's first goal in the 44th minute of the first half, but were outnumbered due to Abdul Fatau's sending off in the 2nd minute of added time, and fell in the second half after conceding consecutive goals to Callum O'Hare and Milan Panewijk.
